Access from the Trail

Ranchita Bodega (formerly Montezuma Valley Market)[1] is located on Montezuma Valley Road 4 miles from the trail. The trail crosses Montezuma Valley Road at Barrel Springs. Shuttle service is offered with as much advance notice as possible. Send a text message to (619) 693-7536 when you will arrive at Barrel Springs.

Food and Drink

Ranchita Bodega is a convenience store and beer garden. They offer a variety of craft beer, as well as snacks, jerky, local honey, and grocery items.

The store is open everyday from first week of March through May, 9 am - 5 pm.

Resupply

As of 2022, Ranchita Bodega is still in the rebuilding process, and the store is in a temporary building. During hiker season salads, fresh fruits,veggies, cheese, and sandwiches are available.

Buses

San Diego Metropolitan Transit System bus route 892, from El Cajon to Borrego Springs, has a stop a few minutes' walk from the Market. The schedule is available on sdmts.com [PDF]. Route 892 only runs on Thursdays.
