PCT Metro Map
Download the current version of the map here.
The OpenLongTrails PCT Metro Map is a simplified map of the Pacific Crest Trail in the style commonly used by metro train lines, or subways. It emphasizes resupply locations per region of the trail.
More information about PCT resupply is available from the LTW list of PCT Resupply Locations.
The most current version of the map is always available for download as a PNG here. Alternatively, open the repo (linked below) and download the most recent version, as indicated by the version number in the filename.
The map archives, which includes all released versions of the map, are available on the OpenLongTrails Github here.
Criteria for Including a Resupply Location
The criteria to include a resupply location on the map are:
- Use by at least 7% of hikers on the HalfwayAnywhere PCT Survey resupply article.
- OR it's on the way to another resupply, eg. Onyx is on the way to Lake Isabella.
- OR it's immediately on/very close to the trail, eg. Echo Lake.
- AND it's not a major city that's obvious, eg. Los Angeles, Seattle, etc.
There are a few exceptions to these criteria, such as for a couple of locations that are not mentioned at all in the current (as of Jan 2025) HalfwayAnywhere PCT Survey but should be, such as Donner Ski Ranch, Drakesbad Guest Ranch, Burney Mountain Guest Ranch.
