Scissors Crossing

Scissors Crossing refers to the point at which the PCT crosses Highway 78 at mile 77.

Resupply options

Stagecoach Trails RV Park is located 4.5 miles south of Scissors Crossing on County Route S2. The town of Julian is located 12 miles west.

Water cache

There is usually a water cache beneath the highway bridge at Scissors Crossing, which is maintained by the same trail angels that stock the 3rd Gate Water Cache. Thank them if you see them, or leave them a few bucks. Without these two caches you would have a 35 mile water carry from Rodriguez Fire Tank to Barrel Spring.
