Lone Pine, California, is a popular resupply location along the Pacific Crest Trail in the Sierra Nevada section of the trail.

The town, along with the Alabama Hills (a unique popular location for filming movies and TV shows), both sit in the shadow of Mt. Whitney, with the World War 2 concentration camp, Manzanar, only several miles away.

Being a one-street town, Lone Pine is highly walkable, though a less popular trail town compared to Bishop,_California, due to fewer hiker services being available and most hikers being able to hike uninterrupted from Kennedy_Meadows,_California to more northerly passes (e.g. Kearsarge_Pass) and trailheads that provide access to both Bishop and Independence,_California
