Andrea Dinsmore, the trail angel who ran Hiker Haven near Skykomish, Washington, passed away in December. Hiker Haven continues to host some hikers, but far fewer than before Andrea's passing.^[5]
Ziggy and The Bear, well-known trail angels in the Desert section, are no longer offering services.^[6]^[7]
Bear canisters are now required in Lassen Volcanic National Park.^[8]
Triple Crown Outfitters, a new outfitter in Kennedy Meadows, California is now open.

The PCTA announced an agreement for 37 miles of the PCT to be re-routed through Tejon Ranch, avoiding the exposed Mojave Desert that follows the Los Angeles Aqueduct and winds past a nearby windfarm. The project remains stalled due to legal issues.
